I'm restoring a '96 Savage 884. Looking to replace the seats, but can't find anything that will fit. It has a bucket seat behind the console...then a fiberglass step that's part of the boat...then a double seat. Any advice, suggestions, answers...anything would be a huge help at this point. Thanks!
Just had an idea...
I've used the 3 piece Wise seats in the past and they were great. The only problem is that with the "step" next to the driver seat, the Wise seats won't fit.
What if I cut out the "step", sanded it down and re-glassed it...then make a cover for the under-seat storage (either glass covered ply or aluminum) and attach the Wise seats to that. I believe the Wise seats are 58" across...and you can space them however you like.
Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts about issues I may come across? Input greatly appreciated!
I have a '97 Savage 884..... I looked Hi & Lo for replacement seats for these. Couldn't find anything to fit, I ended up just finding a shop to have mine oringinals redone..... Cost $600 but will be worth it...
The other issue besides that step is the depth of the seat... 884 is only like 14" or something... Others are usually around 18" I believe...
And don't forget about the storage space under the seat you may lose,

I just had mine reupholstered for $300. Looks brand new.

Stifflersbro...... You need to hook up with MrGreenJeans and send your seats to him and have his guy do them for you...... Shipping shouldn't be to bad, you guys are not to far away from each other....
Mr. GreenJeans...can you shoot me the info. on the guy that reup'd your seats? Also, I'd like to see photos of your seats just to see what kind of job they did on em'. Thanks.
