Re: Soft spot in floor? (MKB1230)
be safe and cut out as much as you can until you get to dry wood, and replace it and make sure you glass it in.
I just had to do this yesterday http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

Re: Soft spot in floor? (sarmst100)
I went to lowes and got fiberglass and a huge fiber glass patch/clotch for $25.
work fast, and it will do you right.wear long sleeves and gloves, ask me why LOL
Re: Soft spot in floor? (mideerslayer)
Be sure to check the stringers underneath and replace all saturated foam with floatation foam/not with home depot spray insulation foam. Soft spots are caused by unsealed screw holes/voids in the glass/cracks in the glass on the floor. Pull the whole carpet and check the entire floor and seal any areas that can let moisture under wood/cracks-seams-holes-screws.Floor should be water tight and water should only leave thru the drains in the floor and ensure the drains edges where they have been cut are sealed with resin also. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif (Asoft spot is usually worse than it looks once you start digging in)
Re: Soft spot in floor? (omcforever)
Yeah, I forgot about the foam. I had to pull out a bunch also and re-poured with US Composites 4# foam. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: Soft spot in floor? (sarmst100)
now regarding foam, i had to do a spot about 12" long 4" wide and varies from 1/2" to 2" deep.
I read on here that some people used great stuff and they were told right from the factory to do this.
Since i was doing such a small area, think i will be ok?
It will be sealed with fiberglass and then cover with wood and fiber glassed again.
Since i had to take it all out i m doing everything over kill
