Luster Fiberglass finish restorer on top of Fiberglass cracking??????
My brother just bought a 92 Javelin. When I saw the finish I knew something was not right. It looks like the clear coat is cracking and peeling EVERYWHERE. I thought it may be a automotive clearcoat, but was wrong. Bascat7 was a lot of help with me the other night, but now I actually have the brand of the stuff the previous owner used (he told us). It is PMP Luster Fiberglass Restorer. Here is the link:

Does anyone know anything about this stuff??

Here are some picture after sanded with a 1000, 1500, 2000 grit and polished with 3m solution. I am the brother he is referring to. http://files.me.com/melaniedaniel1/qfhrxf
Thank you for any input.

The junk He used is a hard acrylic coating.
To remove it involves stripping it off with a commercial based acrylic wax stripper, or scrubbing with an ammonia solution.
It's one of the " quick fix ' gelcoat restorers like Vertglass, NuGlass or Poly Glow.
They are all mostly hard acrylic coatings, like a super tough floor wax.
looks like He put a lot of coats on instead of the recommended 4 coats.
Go to Home Depot or a Janitorial Supply House and get a bottle of acrylic floor wax stripper, they contain ammonia and some light solvents. Spray some on a test spot and let it sit a few minutes and try scrubbing it off with a light scrub pad.
