Type/Brand of paint for trailer
I'm looking to clean up the rust on some of my bunk supports and repaint them in gloss black. They all have 90%+ of the steel left and I would like to keep it that way.
My duck boat trailer my son and I sand blasted it and painted it with Rust Oleum from the gallon can not spray cans. It only lasted about 2 seasons and started rusting again, I don't know maybe a bad batch?
So what has anyone else used the has held up?
I was thinking of maybe a catalyzed urethane auto paint

The key to stopping rust on a trailer is to remove ALL of the rust and use a good primer. By all of the rust I mean sandblasting to bare steel and priming within a couple hours before the steel discolors. Do this and hit the metal with a good quality 2 part epoxy primer followed by your paint of choice and it will last longer than it did with the factory paint job.

Be done with it and LineX it! I think mine was 125 to sand blast the trailer and 275 for the LineX. Might be a bit different depending on the LineX dealer. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

Never thought about linex, the local 4X4 shop does that everyone on their trucks that they drive around are done in it.
