I did a repair job on the side of the boat where the gel coat was damaged. I thought it turned out ok for my first time.I sprayed new gel and clear coated it. I wet sanded it and buffed it out and it looks great until i put it in the water. After a days fishing it looks cloudy. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it.
Did you use a sealer and then a quality carnuba wax?
I didn't use a sealer. Is there one you suggest. The sealer is differnt from the suff you put in the clear coat to make it harden?
Pro-Tec is what I used. A sealer is what the name implies. It seals the fiberglass and protects it. After that use a good marine carnuba wax to protect it all. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

was the gel coat a solid color or did you spray flake?
putting a coat of wax on is not going to fix it if the spray is incorrect
