2003 Johnson 150 - throttle roller timing arm adjustment
Hi everyone, new here and looking for a little help. I've got a '03 Johnson 150 model #j150glsta that would run fine at launch but sputter and die on take offs later on. So I did some searching and found the suggested adjustment to the throttle roller timing arm in this forum. I made the adjustment and it took care of my problem...for a while. Started having the same issues again, when I got home I check the arm and it was back to the original position. Moved it back things were good again for a few days and then same thing. It keeps slipping back after a few uses. Is there any way for me to get it to stay in the correct position? Thanks

Did you take your throttle cable loose when you made the adjustment? Welcome to the BBC.

oh I'm sure I didn't. Should I have taken it off before I adjusted it?

That's how I do it then adjust the cable with the trunion and re-attach. Make sure the screw hole isn't stripped.
