1988 Bass Tracker 1800FS Help needed
A friend of mine just purchased the old fiberglass style BassTracker.
Thanks to Basscat's post about gel coat and my work on my old BassCat Pantera, I am able to help him with some of the gel work, but we need help with some parts and manuals.
Does anyone know where I can get some manuals for the boat? Looks like we are going to have to replace some switches, wiring, and pumps.
Big thing we also need is a wind shield. Are there any "junk Yards" for boats out there?
Thanks guys,
top

I had a 89 1800 F/S and there was no owners manual as I can remember.

There WAS vmsl.com...Vintage Marine Literature...but apparently they have gone under because the website is gone.
try contacting Tracker...all they can say is we dont have one...so it cannot hurt.
I doubt you will need a manual for replacing switches and such anyways. Chances are that exact switch it still made. Actually a better chance with an old analog, over the counter parts boat like the old Trackers.
For electrical parts and switches that you cannot find at a local Electrical supply house I would go to http://www.jamestowndistributors.com or http://www.iboats.com.
I bought replacement fuse holders and switches for my 87 Hydra...same exact thing as the originals.
some of the guys keep posting some company that makes windshields. I took my hydra sport over to see about having a local company make one for me. The price was....well...painful
I made mine for my hydra sport
there are some pictures on my site...scroll down to the hydra sport restoration part and click the picture for the gallery

It is not real difficult. takes a little practice and a wee bit of patience...but after having a friend explain how to do it....it was not as difficult as I expected.
have fun!!! and pictures always make us HAPPYYYY!!!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

What did you do with the gel coat repair. My brother-in-law just bought a 89 tracker 1800fs and it is in need of a "shine". The gel coat is pretty faded to say the least. Any luck on finding a windshield? We are in the same boat....not literally but darn close.

Nice to find out about more 1800FS thats still out there... I own the same boat... and am in middle of a complete renovation...
as far as switches, wiring, and pump goes, hes better off with upgrading them instead of trying for OEM parts...
Windows- you'll definitely have to go custom on that... I know I will be doing that...
Word of advice based on my research... the flooring and the transom usually are the first to go... and be sure to hold constant vigiliance in checking both out perodically...
Hope this helps...

I had a 1989 1600TF
Regret ever selling that little work horse.
FYI.......they were made for BassPro by Nitro up until BassPro bought Nitro outright.
