Re: Astro 2000 restore (leeshelton)
Awesome job on the wetsanding and carpet work.... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif Isn't it amazing how a few hours (well, maybe a few more than that) of work can really make a boat look sharp? It sure beats the price of a new boat.
Re: Astro 2000 restore (ProcraftMike)
I've got about $700 in all of it, seats, carpet, glue, ect. It was gona cost me $1100 just to have a local shop do the carpet, another 400 to redo the seats, 200 for the foot tray, and no telling what they would charge to wetsand and buff. It was well worth the time I put into it. Thanks for the compliment ProcraftMike.

Great job http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif Love the seats did you get them from the boat seat store? I have the same seats wiating to go in my boat here in the spring as winter came to fast before I could get them installed.
Re: Astro 2000 restore (racefan)
They sure did. They were $60 off when I got 'em.
Re: Astro 2000 restore (leeshelton)
How difficult was it adding the gas shocks for your lids? I don't have them but would like to add them. Great looking boat you have there.
Re: Astro 2000 restore (Trent_in_BG)
Not hard at all, but if you don't have reinforcement braces under your lids you will have to drill holes through the lids. Thats why I did mine while I was replacing the carpet.

Re: Astro 2000 restore (Ol JohnnyBoy)
Thanks. It came from Basscat. It's is no doubt the best carpet I could find and not a bad price either.
Re: Astro 2000 restore (leeshelton)
Great job on everything Lee, I hope my carpet comes out as good as yours. Boat really looks sweet. I can't wait to put my new stickers on either.

Use plenty of soapy water Jeff. They like getting sticky if you don't use enough.

That is really sharp. I hope mine comes out that nice. I was wondering, for you guys that have finished your boats, if your more stressed about the carpet getting stained or your gelcoat getting scratched? I could care less about that before I started my restore. I just thought of my boat as a "down and dirty fishing machine". But now I'm going to put all this time and money into making her pretty. I hope I don't become a stress case.
Anybody run into this? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

Wow awesome job http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif
Which brand of foot tray is that or is it custom?

I know I do and I imagine it is common to most that put a lot of time and effort into their boats. Some of the projects we really don't want to have to do over again.
