Re: clearcoat removal (RENEGADE 20)
If it automotive clear get a plastic putty knife and started scraping it off. Then get ready to regel coat or buff and wax, just depends on what it looks like after you finish removing old clear.
Re: clearcoat removal (Bassn)
I'm guessing it's automotive clearcoat, what I've removed so far has been done with duct tape http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif stick it down, pull it up and clear comes with it. That's actually how I first discovered what was going on http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif Lots of work ahead................
Re: clearcoat removal (RENEGADE 20)
Wow never thought of doing it that way LOL what ever works the fast and best for you. Lost of work but it can be done, are you planning on doing it your shelf? If so take your time on prep work, that is were all the first mistakes are made. Do a search on here and ask for help. I did mine with Auto clear and is holding up so far, 1 year now. Next time I do this I will use Gel coat which last longer.
