optical sensor replacement ???

Does this really have to be done in near dark conditions like the dealer told me I know you need to wear latex gloves but is the near dark really necessary???? where going to be changing mine tonight and need to know thanks

thanks seahorse all set everything went well with that now we found some leaking gas and weeping bowls it never ends still doesn't want to idle right but on we go

Twitch, I think our motors were acting similar. I think mine is finally fixed. I took it to a top notch Evinrude guy and he found the my back was bad. And that my stator was also bad which burnt up my last pack. Just to give you some food for thought. I had my EET changed out right before I had to change both stator and pack. After lots of $$$ the Rude is running strong... (atleast so far)

just bought all new bowls to try that and will take it from there
