i went and got HF buffer and wet sanded my boat with 1000,1500,then 2000 grit and then used a mcguiars compound till I got the shine I wanted.I then applied a coat of flagship wax and followed with bbs.It looked great.about a week later the haze starts to reappear but its still smooth.what am I doing wrong.or is my boat just to far gone.the previous owner left it uncovered and outside so maybe Im fighting a losing battle.any thoughts http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif

3M Perfect-It II #5973 from the auto body supply. HF buffer w/ the screw on wool attatchment pad from auto body supply. I used English Paint Store. Use setting III and apply liberally by hand then use buffer. This stuff worked great. $20. Fine enough to take out 1500 scratches. Maybe even 1200 depending on how picky you are. No need to glaze or polish, just wax abnd go. Well, use BBS.

don't apply in direct sun or heavy wind, because it will speed drying up to fast.

I have and old day cruiser that has the imitation wood grain in the fiberglass its very smooth but is hazed over , the clear gel over the top is looking milky , I use 303 on it and it looks fantastic ! I put in on about once a month plus it has a UV inhibitor in it .

keep polishing it!! you need to get the wax covering built up again to protect it. Had a pleasure boat I had done for me one time years ago and they told me it is very porous and needs a bunch of wax to get the protection back. That boat still looks good and that was about 15 years ago!
