I am going to add a deck extension to my boat this next week along with new carpet...heres the situation. Do I want to glass the extension in or do i just screw it in somehow or will the weight of the wood keep it down????

It would really depend on how permanent you want it to be. If you want it to be removable I would still find some points to scew it to something. Looks like a good project. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
I did the same thing. And I didn't want to start drilling holes to anchor is down. So I took it for a test drive to see if it would move or bounce. It didn't, so I left it alone. Your's appear to be a pretty snug fit also. I would take a test ride with it and see what happens.

I made mine so it was tight in where it sits.
You literally have to stand on it so it seats all the way down.
Stays well.Have since tinted the carpet on it to match the rest.

I'm finishing up my rear deck this week. I am going to put threaded inserts into my boat, so I can remove the deck whenever I want. This way, I won't have to rely on the screws holding after they have been put in and removed 20 times.
