Restoration of my 95 Ranger R72 started
On sunday I started my project. I removed the carpet and seats. Cut the hole for the flatfoot. I have some before and during pictures. I will also post some of the finished product.

Re: Restoration of my 95 Ranger R72 started (Show)
Scott, looks like you are well on your way! I have a 1995 R70 that I just finished (do you ever get finished ? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif ) and I just love the boat.
My seat is not as bad as yours, but will have to be replaced also. How does the seat come out, and where did you get your replacement?? Ranger quoted me $400 or so, and a 6-week wait.
If you ever have any questions, just send me an e-mail or IM. Would be glad to help. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif Keep us posted on your progress. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

The seat was easy once I figured it out. On the back of the bench on the rear deck, that section is held on with a piano hinge and velcro. Open that up and it is three screws on each side. As far as ordering the seat, I ordered it through a local dealer. I gave them the numbers off the boat and Ranger matched the seat to the original colors. $498.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info! How long did it take to get the seat?
Re: Restoration of my 95 Ranger R72 started (Hair Jig)
They told me 6 weeks, I opted to have them send it up on the next available truck. That eliminated $100 in shipping costs. I ordered it in September so I was in no rush to get it in. It took 2 1/2 months for a truck to put it on.

Looks like you are running the old single cable steering. Consider the SeaStar Pro Hydraulic. Food for thought: http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=33184

That looks like its going to be great. How much room under the flat foot do you have from the keel? Did you cut through anything stuctural? I would like to do that to my 363 if and when I replace the carpet. Also are you going to carpet over and inside of that to give the seamless appearance or just leave it exposed?
Re: Restoration of my 95 Ranger R72 started (Ridgerunner)
The only thing I had to cut through was the overflow shelf in front livewell. I sealed it around the protray. Not a problem though.
