I have a 2003 tr2101 with yahama 225 vmax. need help with handling. Im told an eight inch jack plate then adjust height to give 17 lbs water pressure will take care of it. I have a six inch. Any thoughts ?

You need to adjust your prop shaft measurement to 2 3/4" below pad to start. You didn't say what prop you had but if its a three blade you can go 1/4" higher to start. That will help with the chine walk and you can adjust it higher if the prop will keep the bow up. Adjust up until you gain rpms but not speed or loose bow lift or WP then go down 1/4" and run it. You may need to have your prop worked if its not in good shape. An 8" is ideal for jack plate but a 6" will work or you can add 2" spacers to get 8". That year likes a trophy plus.
Thanks for the info. I had a typo though I havea 2001 not a 2003. Don't know if there's a difference.

my 03 tr21 has 10" worth of setback, at 2 3/8 below pad....225 proXS , light load 76.4 gps @ 5800 rpm ( worked 26 tempest ) http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
