Ok my buddy and I are going to Dale Hollow in late april for a 4 dayer.....CAN'T WAIT.....
Now im wanting to plan a family vaca to stonewall for the 2nd week in June when the kids are out o'school...
I can't aford the "resort"
I found hillbilly haven cabins..Yall no anything about them???? Plus are there anyother rental cabins near by ?????
bassinbrad goes to Dale a lot, I'm sure he can chime in on some good places to stay. I belive he normally stays at a place called Cedar Hill. Why are you waiting til april? It's my understanding that winter is the best time of year to be there.
There are some cabins up at Little Skin Creek that rent out. I'll do some checking and get back
yea were going to end up booking the trip on dale hollow this week...we have narrowed it down to...Horse Creek, Star point marina, and Cedar Hill...
Water Temp that time of year is supposed to be 58'ish....
But for the summer trip with the wife and kids I'm trying to fins something that can entertain them as well....
I know the "resort" would be nice, but a cabin there is 280-330 a night...yikes !
The Cabins near the Little Skin Creek Ramp are named "Lakeview Cabins" and are owned by Roger & Ethel Curtis (304 269 5813). They have three two bedroom cabins. They are very clean well kept and the Curtis's are very nice people. We have rented one of these cabins several times over the last few years and have been very well satisfied with them. Dale Hollow is on fire right now. If you are looking to bring a bunch of peeps, stay at Horse Creek and get the big cabin (#21)
If you are coming to fish with a buddy or two, Cedar Hill is a good place that has a nice dock and friendly people.

If you go in April, fish about 18ft deep or so with grubs, jigs, tubes. Cant miss man! Structure is key there.

119 to 23 north in pikeville to 80 west in prestonsburg. Follow 80 till burkesville and get old tn 61.
