Santee/lake Marion in Oct.

Hi, I'm going to headed down to Lake Marion in Mid October for a couple of days of R&R. We will be staying at Carolina King at Jack's creek. Any advice on bass fishing this time of the year near Jack's creek would be greatly appreciated. My plan is to fish shallow, but have deep water(10'-12') near by. Shad pattern crankbaits, spinnerbaits, or maybe plastics on cypress trees and stumps. Probably start out at Persanti Island??? Not looking for any secret spots, but any advice would definitely help!
