Any Updates on Spofford?

Hey guys, myself and a friend had been planning on hitting Spofford this weekend. Anyone heard any updates on the dead fish situation? Anything on parking if there are issues is welcome news also. Thanks

Have not heard anything new on the fish kill situation, but I would try to call F&G for that division and see if you can get some answers, that's your best bet.

As for the parking, GET THERE EARLY! I've been there once, went on a Saturday, got to the launch at 6:30....no parking spots left. I had to sneak into a parking spot that the porta potties were in, and left just enough room for people to get around me. The parking lot is very small. It has designated "trailered parking only" spots, but when I went, two azz-hat kayak owners were taking up two spots in those spaces. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif

Also, check your trailer and boat before hand, they do have a lake host at the launch.

channel 9 news last night said it was a bacteria similar to that found in a home aquarium that was the cause.

Thanks for the warning on Parking, just changed my location to either Contoocuc or Mononomac. Hopefully we will find a park and the fish will be alive.

Both of them a re good fisheries. Free on Contoocock and 10 bucks on Monomonoc. Monomonoc is a little larger.

Just so there is no suprise when you get to the launch. That the fee is 15.00 bucks at monomonac

Paid the fifteen. Did't pull much weight. None to be exact. Caught some nice Crappie and a Petey.. real windy and did not get in for the early feeding. Owell I did manage to get a darker...
