Re: 2000 Johnson 200 (ChampioNman)
Is it possible that my 24 raker is out of push when i reach that certain speed (60)? I have tried a seperate 24 raker with the same result.

Check your pad area and make sure you don 't have a transducer within 18" of the center line of the LU, it will cause cavitation. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: 2000 Johnson 200 (64stinger)
Yep, my initial thought is that the performance is being lost in the 24 Raker. I'm with Fred on the 25 Tempest Plus. Perhaps even sweetened by Mark Croxton.
Re: 2000 Johnson 200 (MigAz)
I may be wrong here and someone can correct me but 6k rpm is pretty high for a 200 non HO motor. I think the max you want to turn it is about 5500 rpm. If that is the case I would definitely look at a larger pitch prop before you are looking at a gaping hole in the side of the block.
Re: 2000 Johnson 200 (MNJAVELIN)
Good responses here, I agree with all the above. I certainly want to make this motor last and 6000 is WAY to much. I would like to see 60 at around 52-5300. I'm going to try a 26 this afternoon.
One thing you just brought to my attention that I would have never thought of. The guy I bought this boat from did not want to mount his tranducer inside, therefore, he mounted it exterior about 14" from the centerline.....I never would have thought about that.
Thanks
Re: 2000 Johnson 200 (64stinger)
Well......I'm Stumped!!! I have tried 2 24 rakers and 2 26 rakers. No speed difference at all! The only difference I got out of the 2 is at the top speed of 60 live wells empty, I get 6200 on the 24 and 5800 on the 26, but I can't get anymore speed at all. I've raised, lowered the motor. Tried all I know to try.
Any suggestions????
