Beaver Lake Bass Tournament 10/29
We had 7 teams show up for the last Beaver Lake Fishing Club Tournament of 2011. Not bad considering we were up against the hunting season and a Husker game. It was a cold start this morning, but the sun was warm, wind was light, and water temps were running around 56 degrees. We fished from 8:50 AM till 3:00 PM. The 14 fishermen struggled to get their limits and in the end only 21 bass were weighed. In total their were 90 Largemouth Bass and 1 Smallmouth Bass caught, with 24 being keepers (1 team caught 8 over 15Â) and 66 being under the 15Â size limit. The Smallmouth bass caught was 9Â and released immediately per lake rules. There was also a 27Â walleye caught on a bass jig of all things! Way to go Jim! The front that moved through mid day which brought clouds and wind seemed to add to an already tough bite. The fish were definitely scattered and harder to catch than one would expect on a late fall day. Oh well thatÂs fishing!!
WeÂll vote on next years tournament schedule at the Fishing Club meeting this Thursday, so if you want to have any input please try and attend. Here are the weigh in results:
1st Place  Russ Parmer/Steve Bashus (9 lb 10 oz) 5 fish
2nd Place  Steve Taylor/Terry Meyer (9 lb 3 oz) 4 fish
3rd Place  Chris Kielian/David Greer (9 lb 2.5 oz) 3 fish * BIG BASS winner (3lb 15 oz)
4th Place  Miguel Clavijo/Jim Wieringa (8 lb 5 oz) 4 fish
5th Place  Jim Lencke/Phil Tinnell (7 lb 1.5 oz) 3 fish
6th Place  Phil Drake/Frank Lemmers (2 lb 1.5 oz) 1 fish
7th Place  Bill Constanzo/Joe Constanzo 1 fish (not weighed)
Congrats to Steve and Terry for 2nd place and congrats to Chris and David for winning Big Bass for the tourney!! Attached are pictures and weÂll see you at the Beaver Lake Fishing Club meeting Thursday 3 November @ 7:00 PM at the club house.
Re: Beaver Lake Bass Tournament 10/29 (rudapa)
fun time although the bite was tough. When that big walleye thumped my jig I thought I had the tourney won and was going to head in for pizza like Horton did a few years ago! That was the biggest walleye I have ever seen. How did it taste Russ?
Re: Beaver Lake Bass Tournament 10/29 (Puma Jim)
Great - we ate 1/2 of it tonight. The wifey said thanks, thanks!!

I'm not one to brag but I can say if I'd not been there we would have finished dead last.

http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif We each caught 4 keepers and no one else had a limit. I'd say 3rd without you, but I had other offers, so I wasn't going to fish alone and either of those guys could easily have matched your output for the day. They'd probably even check their treble hooks before a tourney!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif I can always count on your humility, especially when we caught a 5-fish limit averaging under 2 lbs a fish. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

Some how we ended up with the boat in the right place to catch 3 over 8 lbs. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif This subject is about 5 fish that averaged under 2lbs each. How much crowing do you think is warranted for catching 3 of them? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
