2000 Johnson 70 acceleration problem
Hey all...I have a quick question about a 2000 Johnson 70 that I recently purchased to repower my boat.
When I got the motor and installed it, it would run fine on muffs out of the water. I could put it in gear and accelerate with it just fine and no big deal. In the water after it warms up and I try to accelerate it blubbers and falls all over itself and stalls. If I try to accelerate and push in the choke on my key....it does just fine. I had a guy that I have a good amount of confidence in tell me that it was a sync issue between where my throttle cable is and my timing...he is supposed to send me some info today about it. Any other thoughts or ideas? Could it be a fuel delivery problem?
I appreciate all and any input....thanks!!
Mike
Re: 2000 Johnson 70 acceleration problem (Flippin 416)
If you push in the key and it helps the issue then you do have a delivery issue. Is it on a portable tank? If so make sure the vent screw is open.
Re: 2000 Johnson 70 acceleration problem (ChampioNman)
It's not on a poartable tank it's a permenatly mounted tank on my boat.
I thought it might be a delivery issue as well....but it runs fine once I get past the bog?
