Compression numbers for 96 200 Intruder
Hey Guys, need a little help. I'm looking at buying a boat with a 96 model 200 Intruder on it. I'm just going to use this boat till about June then turn around and sell it when I pick up my new boat. What numbers should I be looking for on the compression. Are there any known issues with a 96 200 Intruder I should be aware of? Thanks, Joe http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/pimp2.gif

I run a 94 Johnson 200 that is actually a 96 because the 94 block blew up.
I run between 110 and 115 on 4 of the 6 cyls. The other two (the lowest cly on
each side) is 105 to 110. I'm told this is done to keep the bottom two holes a little cooler. Remember, there should be no more than 10% variance between all cyls.
This is as important as the actual comp #'s.

The #'s aren't so important, as different gauges will read different, IE: One gauge may read a cyl @ 100, another gauge may read the same yl @ 105 As long as all cyls are within 10% of each other!!

One thing you might want to check, the upper crank case head bearing bolts should be gold in color, if not, make sure they are tight and stay tight.

Yea weren't they tha ones that had the crank bolt probs????

Yes, but the bolts should have been replaced by now.
