wanted to fish it saterday and maybe find some spawners but the wind gods were not on my side. im goin to try and get there this weekend ill let you know how i do.
that would be great! thanks
Pre-fish Boggy Creek flats in the northwest corner of the lake for some bedding fish and west side of the lake for a few bedding fish. It is best to fish isolated stands of reeds in the grass on the west side of the lake. Weather can make this lake fickle. There are underwater grass beds out from Fellscove canal, approximately 300 yards out from the mouth of the canal that will stage pre-spawn fish. Also, fish the deep reeds between open water and shoreline just south of the lake toho canal. Sometimes the fish pre-stage and bed in open water directly outside the toho canal and just a couple of hundred yards south of the canal. A favorite lure this time of year is a white 1/4 oz spinnerbait and a white zoom super fluke. I have also been known to dip the tail of the fluke with blue die. Happy fishing.
Bill, is it navigable for a 20' bassboat to get from West lake into East lake Toho, via one of the canals??
No you CAN NOT get from West Toho to East Lake by water. If you re planning on this weekend.you'll have roughly 200 boats as company.the BASS Weekend Series
wil be there.
i believe that is the 29th
Yea, that weekend will be hell.
28th: BFL = 200 boats
Cracker Boys = 125 boats
29th: Bassmaster Series = 100 boats
well i was able to get out today. guess i was wrong the bassmasters series was there but it was the national championship, not the one in 2 weeks. only about 50 boats and i was able to get out just before they blasted off. pretty cool with just a couple camera guys there, cant imagine what the classic will be like.
now for the fishin, coulda started the mornin off with 3 fish one of which was a decent one but i finally realized i really need to get bigger hooks if i want to use a horny toad. my buddy got one early, maybe a pound, fishin some grass. we lost a couple others in the grass but it was slow till i finally got my first, maybe a 2 pounder. ran around a little and found a spot where i got a couple more that were about a pound before calling it a day and gettin in before the tourny. asked a few of the guys in the tourny how they did and seemed i wouldnt have done to bad. ill try and get some pics up later.

I could be wrong, but the middle pic (and maybe the bottom one) look like Shingle creek, in big lake Toho?
all were on east lake toho, 1st is boggy creek flats, 2nd was up in boggy creek, 3rd was near that big lily pad field on the inside of the reeds south of the canal(forgot the name http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emhammer.gif ) on the east side of the lake.
