Re: wiring help please (metalman76)
I've read the post three times and I'm still confused http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif Are you trying to connect a new style harness to an older (pre 96) harness?? If you are there is an adapter harness that you can purchase.
Re: wiring help please (ChampioNman)
I bought a newer control box because mine was ragged. Then i bought a system check tach and wire harness. The harness has multiple plugs on it one of which said ignition and plugs into the only plug on the control box. Then were are a couple of wires that said neutral safety switch. I figured out if I hooked these together it would not start in gear. But kill switch does not work and there are a couple of wires taged lanyard stop. If I just hook these together will that complete the loop like the neutral safety did? I was told it would not. Thank you for your help.
Re: wiring help please (metalman76)
I believe from that description if you hook the lanyard wires together it will cause a constant path to ground. Those should go to your kill switch.

The kill switch it on the control box and wired to the only plug on it.
Re: wiring help please (metalman76)
Gotcha I may have to stroll out to the shop and dig out a manual.

Re: wiring help please (metalman76)
Is it a BRP control or an after market box?
Re: wiring help please (ChampioNman)
I think it is aftermarket.
