Sorry for the confusion, it's brand new. Wasn't inquiring about the history a specific motor, just wondering if anyone owes one and what they think of it.
Strong perfomers in that HP class should be a gas/oil sipper on a flats boat. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Greg, I have been running the 75 ETEC now for 3 years on my 16 foot Crestliner. From a reliability standpoint I have only had one warranty issue. That involved a bad injector that was replaced without any problem. The other issue I had was operator error when I skipped a submerged rock at about 22 mph.
The vibration/shock to the motor caused a fracture in the vapor fuel seperator wall. As far as the rest of the motor I did no damage to the lower unit what so ever. A couple of minor gouges to the skeg that were easily filed down to the point you would hardly notice them. The point being I struck that rock pretty hard. I would estimate that I am probably in the area of 120-130 hours on the engine at this time.
The motor is as solid as it gets IMO. I have no qualms at all to hanging another on the back of any boat I purchase. As a matter of fact I am looking at a couple of new boats now and am looking at the 150 and 175 ETECS. Good luck with your choice. You won't be disappointed. Also, the oil consumption is unbelieveably economical and the fuel consumption is great as well. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
