Fuel line query on my Faststrike 175 and 91' Stratos
Hi Guys (and girls) on BBC,
I've got an alarm when running at speed on my (91) vintage 295 Pro. The book says that the short alarm indicates a fuel restriction. I wrote in some time ago and asked for some advice and some said if the ball is soft, try a new one and some said replace the fuel lines. I'm contemplating both of those fixes right now and am at a quandry on how to reach/find where the lines leave the tanks and flow upward to the engine. OBTW it's a 175 faststrike (91). I haven't stood on my head yet and looked under the center of the hull from the engine compartment. Nor have I checked the tank selecter for any blockages. I'm asking if any of the fine experts on this forum have had this problem and I'd really appreciate any/all advice I can get. Thanks in advance, Limmy http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
I love this rig!!!!!!!!!!

you don't tell us if the primer is soft when the alarm goes off, so try a couple of very simple fixes/tests first, when running at speed and the alarm goes off, try pumping the primer bulb, does the alarm stop? make sure the tank is vented OK, remove the filler cap, does the alarm stop? try those ono invasive things first, and let us know if the bulb is flat/soft when the alarm sounds, also is there a fuel filter in the line?

anti syphening(spelling?) had the same problem on my hydrasport with a faststrike
Re: Fuel line query on my Faststrike 175 and 91' Stratos (tritt)
sorry anti syphening valve
Re: Fuel line query on my Faststrike 175 and 91' Stratos (noelm)
I'm gonna take a SWAG on this one, but I think on your hull the tanks are under the seats. There should be an access plate between the seats if you remove it you can get to the tanks/tank. Can't remember where the tank selector switch is on a 91 295 but replace all of that back from the selector switch to the motor and from the selector switch (if equipped). Remove the anti-syphon valve also and replace with a straight through barbed fitting.

Thank you all for the advice. Championman, Tritt, and Noelm. I will try to troubleshoot while it's frozen up here in OHIO and let all of you know when I get it figured out. GO STRATOS AND BRP,OMC,
