couple of basic questions about a 225 etec ho
just bought an 06 and had a mechanic check it over. need to pick up a SS prop (looking at tempest)...is the 26 or 27 right for that motor?
also, need to replace the lower unit earl...do i need to stick with the high dollar evinrude stuff?
final question, should i run the 50 or 100 oil in it? it appears the 100 is for colder climates? i live in TX so i dont worry about cold weather that much.
thanks.

Wow, the high dollar lower unit earl is about $10/quart. XPF/XR that is what the E-tecs run. It is good last 300 hours.
I would have the mechanic set your EMM to the latest updates. Once completed it should be set to TCW-3 you can then run XD-100 which is a full synthetic or XD-50 which is a blend. Both are the best for your motor. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
