Is there going to be a 60 HP High Output E-TEC motor?
Hi all.
Is there any information on a possible 60 HP HO motor? If so, are there any ballpark dates for introduction?
I would like a little more power, but the 75 HP just weighs too much at 140kg. The 109kg of the 60 is the perfect weight me.
Thanks in advance.

Well... I seriously doubt it. Why would they? Don't see anyone making a "hot" 60hp motor for pleasure/fishing applications. No market for it.
The only HP 60hp that I am aware of is the 4-Stroke 60 EFI "Formularace" from Mercury Racing. It has a 15" shaft and ZERO warranty (plus its made in China, NOT at Merc's Racing division).

Looks like a 4 stroke motor.
I agree, I have very little faith in China when it comes to cars and that sort of thing.
ZERO warranty says a LOT about the companies faith in a product, even if it is a high performance racing product. ....
If they make a 15 HP HO, I believe there is a chance for a 60 HP HO... Heres hoping!

There was some discussion on this on the Etec Owners Club Forum a few days ago. It seems that in 2005 there was a pre release 2 cylinder 70hp in a BRP pre release brochure complete with picture & specifications. It was never released though.
