I want to buy new Crankin' Rods for this season. I've been using Team Daiwa (Green Handle) Rods and I'm not real happy with them. I've got my eye on some Powell Endurance. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks

I have several powells and have no complaints. I have not tried the cranking rods yet though.
I started using the Loomis CBR series last year and that is all I throw my cranks on. If it has a treble hook that is what I use. They work great for cranks, traps, jerks, topwater, etc. I have not used their deep flex series as the reports on these were not favorable.

That is all I use as well. I have a 7'5" deep flex crankin' rod and love it. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
You might want to check out Dobyns Rods line of crankbait specific rods. They are the Champion series and range from 6ft 8in to 8ft and are IMO the best crankbait rods out there. They offer graphite and glass rods as an option as well. You will find a lot of guys here on BBC that love their Dobyns Rods!
Powell, Dobyns, and Loomis are all great rods. My crankbait rod though is a 7' MH moderate action St. Croix Mojo bass rod. It has been a fantastic rod for all things cranking...and for 100 bucks you can't beat it. I plan on buying another for my tournaments.
I love the Powell Rods but I will have to say in my hands day in and day out for cranking are the Loomis CBR series. 2-843-2-845 and 2-847's. I also have one GLX cranking rod with recoils that is my all time favorite. You can get the CBR's used for about 150.00 on here if you keep your eyes open.
I Was checking out the St Croix Mojo also and I'm definetly going to look into the Dobyns and Loomis
I'm using dobyns and love em but I really like the ducketts as well. That 7'11" cranking rod they have is sweet.
You will have no complants with the powells. They are great and priced right
I love the dobyns crank rods- they are not as heavy as traditional glass cranking rods but have the traditional glass action without the weight.
well fenwick had the best crankin rod arround IMO when they did the Old hmg rods. Now i would go powell or dobyns glass. If your going the cheep route, bass pro carrys those sila-flex rods from browning and they are SUPERB IMO.. check them out

I have the St Croix Mojo Big Crankster 7'8"
It is a heavier rod but you can fling a DT16 or 6XD a mile!
I also use a 7 foot M Crucial Crankbait rod for square bills and shallow cranks.
the cbr845 makes for a great all-around cranking rod.
the 906 if you like to go a bit longer, heavier.
I have custom Loomis CB 843, 845 and 847 rods and they are alright rods but I much prefer my Lamiglas MB841E's for general cranking. I think you can get Lami Excel XL705 glass for a very reasonable price and I think it about the same blank just different color.
I bought my wife a Powell Endurance 724 composite cranking rod(she loves the purple accent color) and it seems to be a nice rod too. Frankly, I'd take it any day over the Loomis cranking rods, but I don't like it as much as my Lami's!
