Not sure about the 1000 but I just changed the handle on my Scorpion 1500 to a handle from a Citica 200E. Hope that helps. I may have an extra Citica 200E handle if you need one.

The older one accepts the handles off US model Chronarchs of similar model years.

All my Scorpion 1000's rock with Calais ball bearing handles and ceramic spool brg's. Any of the newer style Shimano handles will work.
the older maroon external adj. style? i'm hearing conflicting stories??? I really want a 200E handle, but...

It, they don't so the flats shouldn't work.. There needs to be a spacer between the drag star and handle..
