Reel size question Shimano - Diawa
I have never purchase a Diawa spinning reel before but i do own quite a few shimano spinning reels. I usually purchase Shimano's in the 2500 size what would Diawas comparable size model be to the Shimano 2500. It is a Team Diawa Fuego A spinning reel if it makes any difference
Re: Reel size question Shimano - Diawa (Nitro Bob Rourke)
I just realized how slow the gear ratio on the Fuego A is, i no longer want to own it.

It is "slow" but you really need to look at the IPT. Even at 4.8:1 or whatever, it still picks up quite a bit of line. Not as much as a 6.0:1 Shimano, but still quite a bit.

I have found that the 2500 series reels are some of the most versatile reels for any species of freshwater fish. The Stradic has been a work horse for many years for me.
Re: Reel size question Shimano - Diawa (Cape Fear)
Tackle Warehouse has a good sale on the fuego, and i had a gift card and that was why i was going to give it a try. Looks like i am going to purchase nothing for the time being, i just got a new 2500 Stradic FI tonight from my parents.
