I make a 6'6" medium action rod for this. The blank I use on this is a medium action, 6'6" Rainshadow blank. I use Yozuri Hybrid 15 lb line on a Shimano Curado 200BSF.

I got a 20 year old Diawa Bill Dance Spinnerbait rod 5 1/2 foot, probably a med heavy action, with a BPS PQ-1000 reel. Line is BPS Excel 14 lb clear blue.
I use the Castaway SB3-6'2", Curado 6.3:1, and 12# P-Line in moss green or clear. It's great for up to 3/8 oz blades.
Daiwa (I forget which model) 7'0"
Scorpion 1500

Spinnerbaiting requires 2 different outfits depending on whether you're fishing day or night. 1 combo is not good for both.
1 day - #7 Fenwick, 5'6" maximum length. Better if shortened to 5' for close range targets.
1 night - MH Falcon, 6' to 6'6". Any good quality rod with good sensitivity.
2 day - Ambassador UltraCast 4600. This is the best old style reel ever made. To get pinpoint accuracy, you must use a reel that the line guide does NOT disengage. Most target casting does not require a long cast anyway.
2 night - Curado 100. Good casting distance and smooth for the price.
3 day - 17# clear Trilene XT
3 night - I haven't found a satisfactory line for night fishing. Because waterlogged line acts like a rubber band and feel is diminished, I have been trying some of the braided lines. None have performed like I want, so I usually take about 6 rods and change when the monofilament line gets spongy. 17# to 20# Trilene XL or XT Solar.
