Re: Simple to make A Rig (sc419795)
Looks like all you need to catch 4 at a time.. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif You might not need a split ring for the tie... But maybe.

Easy. Why not make one with 3 wires? Also you could look at drilling out a worm weight for the head then slipping some shrink tube over it.
Re: Simple to make A Rig (EasyE)
We can make them with as many wires as we want.. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif Just playing around with them at the moment. We fish shallower here and I wanted a no weight head and very little or no weight heads on the shad... Throwing this in 3-6 foot of water with weeds. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

I am bending the original 13" wire in half around a nail to form the eye loop at the top. So I need an even number of wires coming down. As far as the weight, what I have read on these rigs are they are pretty heavy as currently designed. When you start adding 4 split rings, 4 swivels, 4 hooks or jigs, and 4 shad or worms or whatever you want to put as the bait - at least how I am thinking, that will be heavy enough to get to the depths I want to fish. If I want to fish deeper, I can throw and count it down before I start reeling in.
I am sure there are 100 ways to make these things. This is just how we came up with the idea to make it about as simple as possible - and quiet honestly, pretty inexpensive to make.
Re: Simple to make A Rig (sc419795)
Steve, a 5th or odd number wire can be added easily by using the 5th wire to wrap the other 4 at the top with. Then shrink wrap. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
We'll see how the 16 inch wires work soon enough. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Simple to make A Rig (21XDC)
I can see that working. Want a read from Indiana DNR before I go much further. Don't want to make 20 of these only to find out they are not legal. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif
Re: Simple to make A Rig (sc419795)
Feels like throwing a chandelier on the rod... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif Making these w/o much lead makes these closer to throwing a spinnerbait. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif I gave some to a friend and he has been catching some fish on them. They were 35K wire and got bent up some, but nothing that wasnt bend backable... Is that a word? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
Anyway.. My next batch of wire is 41K, we'll try those too. I dont like how the line can get wrapped around the wire/head when casted. I'll try and figure out a way to prevent this... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Are you wraping the mono around the wires and then putting the shrink wrap over it?

I would think that a bass flailing around would break something unless you wrapped in small copper wire and soldered instead of just monofilament with superglue and heat shrink.

Well I made one. It's probably the worst looking A-rig ever assembled but I gave it the tub test and it works good. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif

What wire are you guys using? Where do I get it? And mine looks the ugliest. I made it out of a kitchen wisk. No kidding. But I have a pic with a 8lb hybrid bass on it and caught DD just this last week on it.

I used survey flags. They come pre-cut and cost ¢19.
Works for me.
