Questions about building Rods
I have been considering trying to make a few rods for my personal use and maybe for a friend or 2, just as an afternoon hobby. I have been to several websites that carry blanks and other rod materials, and i didn't realize there were so many brands of blanks. I was wanting some opinions of blanks that would build good rods, but something that would be good to start out with. I don't want a way better blank that the "craftsmanship" I can put on one. I'm just curious as to what some of you are using and a good website or 2. Thanks...Justin

The mudhole custom builder blanks are a good value ($15?) and not bad blanks. You could certainly fish with them. Great to learn on and make mistakes with.
If you ever wanted to make the trek over to Aiken, I'd be glad to show you omse of the ins and outs on how to do it all.

Great blank to start building with and fish with! I did my first two builds on them and am very happy with their performance.
