Re: Deceleration Jerking? (Sldrvr)
Mine does the same thing. Always has. I have found that it is only relater to the gearcase. I have found that if you pull back to neutral as you lift off the gas it will not do it. I think it has someting to do with back pressure. I have also found that if I start trimming down as soon as I lift on the gas that will help also.
If you use the neutral trick make sure you do it in a safe spot. Going to neutral at high speed can be dangerous.
Good luck.
Re: Deceleration Jerking? (GaryL)
GaryL, I notice the same thing if I start to trim down as I come out of the throttle but if I trim and come clean off it will jerk.
Re: Deceleration Jerking? (Sldrvr)
You should really ease out of the throttle and trim down simultaneously, and allow your motor to idle some and cool off before switching off.
Re: Deceleration Jerking? (Garfish)
Any time you dump the throttle, the engine is going to idle rpms and the water is still rushing by the l/u at whatever speed ya running, naturally it's trying to lift your engine......consensus says, at least to me, .....it's normal. As stated above, it's best to throttle down slower and trim down and let the engine idle a few seconds before shutdown.....JMHO
