2003 Evinrude HO?

I have had it checked by a certified technician and there were no codes to help him. He tells me he does not know what is wrong. So he put a new fuel bulb on, no help. The problem is the motor loses power and dies after about a 1 or 2 mile run, I can get it started once or twice and it will run about a 100 yards and die. I get back to the ramp and try again and it runs for a about a mile and does the same. I took the cowling off and tried to start it and the fuel pump sounded horrible. Any help would be appreciated.

Give the guys the model serial #. It sounds to me like you have a bad anti-siphon valve in the fuel tank.

It is starving for fuel, by the sound of it. Try with a separate (portable) tank. Replace filter, check fuel lines for leaks (might draw false air) and check the anti syphon valve in the tank for blocks. Is there a mesh filter in the tank?
