Congratulations! I use that same airbrush, it works better than you might think. Be super diligent about keeping it clean. If you are using water based paints, it can build up on you in a hurry. Use the little color cup it comes with rather than the bottle, it works much better and you will waste less paint. Looking forward to what you come up with!
Congrats... I use the same airbrush as well. Would love to have an Iwata, but I would love to be able to afford one too!
Whats are the best ways of keeping it clean?
After playing with it today, it seems like it shoots best at around 20 psi. But one thing I couldn't figure out are the paints. I'm using the Michael's Apple brand paints and the black worked well, but the others (blue, yellow, white) were hard to show up, and didnt stick too well to the bait
I recommend Createx paint...

Heres the first bait. Its a sanded down Bomber. The paint isn't real crisp...but it was my test bait and has white, chartruese, black, and blue on it so i think it turned out decent. Definitely have alot of practice with the new brush though

CShaver, I just picked one up to this week. Haven't gotten a chance to work with it yet; hope to this weekend.

Keep the advice/suggestions coming. I've got lots of trial and error ahead of me. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
is this the one?

did you get it at the 161/cleveland store?
It is this one http://www.harborfreight.com/c...95810
Yes, it was at the 161 store, on sale for $15. I had a 20% off coupon and got it for $11.99
I also suggest Createx paint, shoots perfectly http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Does the Createx require thinning with water?
CS,

I picked up the exact one, and tinkered with it all weekend. I shot straight Createx, no thining; worked great! Createx cost a bit more than thinning some of the less expensive brands, but it's far less hassle. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

I picked up a few extra bottles to put other colors in and save time while spraying; I highly recommend it. (got 'em at Hobby Lobby/Michaels)

The results with this gun are pretty darn impressive for the price. I've still got a ways to go, but so far I have no complaints. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
sounds good http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif I also picked up a bottle of the Createx White Pearl and it shot great. I think I was thinning the other paints too much. With the createx, while it is more expensive, using the smaller metal cup definitely helps with not using much paint.

Not to bring up an old thread. But I've been spraying some Createx for a while now, it seems like some of the pearls are a bit thicker than other colors. No big deal, I've just had a few times where I've thinnned them a pinch to get them to spray better.
I used apple barn paint for the last year I started using createx and it made a world of differance.
