Can anyone tell me if one is better than the other and if so why? or is it just whatever will fit in the mold?

The bend is the same, The eye direction is 90* twisted. I drill out the eyelet area deep in both sides of the mold and fill over full with red rtv high temp silicone. Let it dry and razor blade it off flush with the mold. Now you can use either hook if you like. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
thanks for the reply.
i understand the difference physically with the 2 hooks. I am just curious why one would choose to use one over the other. i cannot see any reason they would make the action any different. i am guessing the plain 60 degree would grab less weeds, but such a little difference it really probably would never be noticed.
I think for rock type heads the flat eye is better, Weed type use the reg. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
BTW... I have spent some time on Ackley Lk and Maple lk in PawPaw. Been to both wineries. I liked that area. I had the fastest boat on Ackley at 83 mph from corner to corner. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif Maple I ran 86. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif Launched by the RR tracks.

For what its worth....I fished this weekend with both and I lost 15 3/8 arky with the 60 degree flat eye. I only lost 4 of the standard straight eye in the same head.
I was fishing heavy cover under boat docks. Primarily docks with christmas trees and lots of cross members. The flat eye would not come through the cover....
thanks for the replies. we have the plain 60 degree hooks so i think we will just go with them for now.
21xdc, i would hang with you on ackley but 83 is my limit so you'd get me on maple, that is if you are correct with the 86mph. i am wondering though if maybe you were at st. julians a little too long since i don't know of any railroad tracks to launch near. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif Went to werners and stjulians.. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif I swear there were tracks near the ramp on Maple. I doubt you can run 83 in Ackley, It's short and you need a light boat with lots of power to get it there. What do you have to compete? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif
The ramp is on the right as you come out of Ackley under the road through the tube. Maybe there were no tracks. They were pumping water or dredging the bottom I think at the time.
well to get to 83 on ackley , you have to start on maple and shoot the tube. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
I just have an '08 puma w/250proxs. like i said 83 is my limit.
and yeah, i think you were in the wineries a little long, nearest tracks are probably a mile from the lake(nest to the wineries).
Yeah, Paw Paw is a fun little town.
you should look into coming in for the grape festival in sept. that saturday eve. is usually a good time at the wine tent with the bands, if you know what i mean.
