Marine formula sta-bil is probably your best product to counteract ethanol. It doesn't totally eliminate the all problems, but it will stabilize the gas from separating over a longer period of time.
Can I also use Lucas fuel treatment occasionally to help with carbon deposits?
I have a 2005 E-Tec. I run whatever gas is handy; use XD-100 and nothing else goes in the tank. In 300 hours I've never had a problem.
With todays fuels, I wholeheartedly advise some type of fuel treatment. If you run XD-100 oil then treat the fuel for ethanol with Stabil marine formula, BRP 2+2, Startron, or what ever you can find. If you're running any different type of oil, decarb yearly and run a carbon treatment every other tank at least. JMHO
