PDP issue? HELP!

E115FPLSSR Serial #G04745079 Build date 07/1999.
Coming into marina engine running fine trim fails to work. Shut engine off engine won't crank and trim will not work. All gauges dead,tilt function on side of engine won't work.
12 volts to main relay in, nothing out. Pulled PDP cover and checked all 7 fuses replacing bottom one even though looked intact. No change.
After searching this site I have concluded PDP bad. Just looking for advice at what else it could be before buying/rebuilding PDP.

It sounds as if you have it figured out correctly. To help confirm it you can follow the red B+ wire from the start solenoid to the PDP and confirm you have 12 volts going in. if not work backward.

DFI does good work and they are easy to work with. As good as new, functionally I would say yes.

If it won't start you have other issues that may be related to PDP solder fatigue. But, I have found fatigued solders on both poles (tabs) for my tilt and trim circuit. the first was two years ago. The second was yesterday. I pulled the PDP and took the back off of it and flowed new solder around the terminal where the Up circuit (green wire on right) connects to the circuit board. Works like new. this is basically what DFI will do for you in addition to checking all other circuits and re-flowing solder as needed.

I'm guessing you have more than one fatigued solder connection. It sounds like there is one on the ignition or start circuit too.

I ended putting a used PDP off a 2001 and it now runs great.(dealer sold it to me for $100.00)
My feeling is the solder joint that gets fatigued must be the main power in to the unit to make everything shut down.

While you're not in a rush, I recommend you disassemble your original PDP and check solders for fatigue. Its easy enough to do and if you are mildly handy with a sodlering iron or gun you will then have a good back up PDP. I always secure and seal the PDP back panel with a small bead of silicone caulk. Works like a champ and it can be removed with an exacto knife.
