Problem w/ my 99 Johnson 225 HO
I launched the boat Saturday morning and it started right up. I traveled down a small channel of about 1/4 mile to get to the main lake. When I tried to get up on plane the engine sputtered and stalled out. It wouldn't restart, it sounded like it was fuel deprived. I noticed gas on the water behind the boat and when I removed the cover to take a closer look I noticed there was gas dripping from the front of the engine, coming out of the black cover that has two screws holding it in place. Is there anything I can check for this leak or am I better off bringing to a dealer?

Pull the black cover off and pump the primer bulb and look and see if yo can notice any fuel leaks. Could be a leaking bowl or a cracked hose or the fuel rail itself.

Ok, I did that and I couldn't find a leak anywhere. I am wondering if when I check it at the lake if I make have put the leaking hose back on. Where the fuel line comes into the engine compartment it goes to the fuel filter, out of that it goes to a T. One of those hoses popped off when I was moving it, I wonder if when I put that hose back on I may have solved my problem.....
