issue with spinnerbait head design
I am on a great spinnerbait bite now in a local creek and it didn't take me long to find the flaws in my spinnerbaits. The issue I am having is dying eel grass getting caught on the head, as wellas the blades but can't do to much about that. Anyone have any suggeations of spinnerbait designs that slide throigh this stuff without getting caught on the head. I am running strike kings and stanleys now. The heads protrude abit from the wire causing the weeds to get stuck. I checked TW and saw Aaron Martens Davis spinnerbait, it looks like it might come through weeds pretty good, anyone try them out yet? Thanks

I like a Gann's Stilletto. I fish a lot of eelgrass here in Florida, and I primarily throw a 3/8 oz. Stilletto, but I will also throw a War Eagle Screaming Eagle at times. Both of these baits are great in the grass. They will occasionally get fouled, but a quick snap of the tip and the grass will come right off.

The Ganns is definitely a nice spinnerbait, but it has the same protruding cchin as the strikeking. I can see the same issues happening. I am going to try the Davis and report in the review section on them. Nichols look like they might shed weds pretty good too.

A bullet head should be best for not catching grass as there is less head to snag grass with. As for the grass catching on the blades there is a way to make them more grass free but it is hard to explain and my camera is broke so I cannot take a pic.

Both of these baits were made by me at A.C.T. Lures
I would be honored to build you some custom spinnerbaits http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

Ganns is a very good spinnerbait I found it came through the grass pretty good. War eagles are great but the wire is flat out junk and bents way to easy. I wish they made a heavier wire spinnerbait because there products are very good, and I havent had and issue with the blades falling off on either. I havent been happy with strike kings product lately I have been having alot of issues with there spinnerbaits.

13starsinax the strike kings wire have been braking on me and the blades have been falling off of them with in one or two fish which sucks because and at 10 bucks a spinnerbait they really shouldnt fall off after two fish. I have used them in the past and have been fine.
