An easy way to repair a paint chip on a crankbait is to match the color as best you can and put a coat of clear acrylic finger nail polish over the new paint. Years ago when I fished crankbaits a lot, they would get chips in them from rocks and such. I repaired them this way and they have lasted a long time. Probably 18years as I got some out today to repaint them it took a while to sand them down.
