I usually like one without a rattle just because everybody and their brother generally uses a rattling one around here...I've even put a feathered treble on the rear of a couple to show the fish something different. If the water is stained I'll use the one knocker just for a different sound than the rattling ones. I love the RC1.5s by the way. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
I build custom balsa cranks. And i like no rattles just a good strong vibration. if it is reely muddy i can see rattles. but if it is reely muddy i am probaly throwing a big bladed spinnerbait or flipping.
Dweller, do you find the same to be true with deep cranks, no rattle?
i dont fish alot of big deep divers. but i have some flat hand mades that does not have rattles. A guy made me i would not part with. i also like the dt series and they do not have rattles. But I also throw dd22, fat freeshads and they do but they are proven fish catchers and i cant argue with sucess. I also believe you can switch between the 3 on a spot and catch more after they get conditioned to the others. If i t is real clear i would start out with one that does not have rattles and a pretty fast retreive
No rattles for the RC 1.5 90% of the time but if you must get a rattler buy a chart. one.
