I got mine at Academy. The size depends on your boat size. I don't think I paid much for it. Around 20 dollars or so.
Cabelas has sizes listed here for the Lindy brand socks. If I remember right, the sizes seem correct, from when I was looking for one.

I carry two (2) in my boat. One opens (in the water) up to about to about 20" and the other is a king size and opens up 2 1/2' to 3'. Depending on wind conditions for a given day and what bait I am throwing, will dictate what sock I use. If I am faced with a really stong wind and I need to really slow my boat down, I will use the king size. IMO you would really do well having one of each size. There are also days when I use both. Especially fishing Lake Erie.
