Make sure you're lubing the rubber pegs, it's possible you're burning the line, you might try a bobber stop. I've never had a break off I thought was caused by the weight using weights by, BPS, Tru-Tungsten, and Excaliber.

I always use something to wet the line especially when pegging the sinker, usually mega strike which makes it slicker than owl snot..After I broke a big fish off lastnight I retied and checked the line after about 20 casts and it had small nicks in it. from the knot to about 2 inches above the knot...I will prob be switching back to lead..

I'd try a bobber stop, I seldom peg tungsten weights, but it sounds like when the line is forced tight against the sinker the hard surface is scoring the line.

Put a rubber Bobber Stop between the weight and the eye of the hook. End of problem. Jim
