Painted worm weights or plain ones?

I was wondering what everyone's opinion is on whether painted worm weights get you more bites? I use black painted ones, but I question whether it makes a difference or not. Any thoughts?

if you using the lead ones i think the biggest thing that makes a diffrence is you dont want them to be shiney like they are when they are new
better off to have a dull finish to them

What I do is buy them unpainted and spray paint em in flat black color...it doesn't shine at all http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

painted tungsten and pegged with rubber t-stop.

only in clear water would it make a difference.colored anything is a confidence builder.if it makes you feel better, do it, to a bass they dont care.

I buy whichever I can find cheaper. If I they are unpainted, then I just color with a sharpie. works for me. but, I've caught plenty of fish with it shiney or not. I guess it's a confidence thing more thing else.

I think all you need is the right lure in front of the right fish and you'll get a bite.

color doesnt matter. Its the same $$ as regular so I get different colors for the coolness.

I have NEVER heard/talked to seen a pro winner say he won due to the painted weights.

Bass Seminar a couple years ago, Woo Daves (Mr. Wormhead) was all for painting the lead or buying colors to match plastic... green, red, black should complete the short list... I just buy the colors these days... tungsten too...

I went to a bass class a few years ago and talked to George Cochron about this subject and he said it made a differnce.He won a tournament a few years ago using red painted weight's.He said he tryed a few different colors and the bass would not hit anything but a red bullet weight on a texas rig that particular day. I use black most of the time.I'm sure any color will work some of the time but you are probably going to find out sooner or later a little change can make a big difference.Hope that helps.

Its all weird, how many pros do you ever see use scent on TV in the tournaments? How many use jig rattles or say that they did? I pay close attention to the baits on TV but usually its so quick a flash you don't see much...

Sometimes a new shinny lead weight will get you extra bites. Flash from the shinny weight triggers a raction bite while flipping heavy grass.
