hmmmm.....Amsoil talking about other oils not doing as good as there own and also saying to change the oil more often. Not saying it might not be the truth but I would think a tsb from the manufacturers would have come long before one from Amsoil.

Actually, if you read the normal specs on Amsoil, they brag that thier sythetic oil could go 3x manufacturer's change interval....that's what got me intersted.

But on the TSB they state that in these particular diesels, they recommend changing even thier own product at the manufacturers recommended change intervals.

So basically, they're being honest and admitting that with the fuel contamination, thier synthetic will perform no better than the regular oil.

I called around to a couple people I know that work on the trucks (one is at a Chevy Dealer), and they both confirmed that the manufacturers are well aware of the issue, which is why the change intervals are set lower than pre-2007 trucks. That's why there were no manufacturers TSBs required.

I jusy know that changing 15 quarts of oil every 5000 miles (I use the towing interval) is getting expensive with the cost of oil now. Being able to triple that would have sure been nice.... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif
