Spark plug question for Rusty
Rusty, I just acquired a 2005 225 HO (non Etech) and have read and seen that they seem to be spark plug eaters. I'm used to running NGK plugs and this seems to run the Champion QC12PEP, my question is, is there a compatible plug from NGK and is it worth trying to see if they foul less and hold their gap better. This new motor makes my TR21 a whole new animal after my old 200 EFi gas guzzler and am looking to see if I can get a few more hours of smooth running out of the plugs. Appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks, Brad

Welcome to the BBC.
I would suggest you stick with the Champion QC12PEP plugs, I would not recommend any other plugs.
The ignition system multi sparks at RPM's below about 3500, so if you run at or below this RPM you will need plugs more often.

Rusty, thanks for the quick response. Will stick with the Champions and can I clean and regap them if needed.

Yes you can, gap them to 0.028 and only remove an replace them one at a time, they are indexed and must go back in the same hole.
