Chances are he ran it too low on oil and air got into the oil line. Or possibly the dealer did not do the oil bleeding and priming like required.
The line has to be bled of air and the oil priming done, the correct way, just like with a new motor should be done.

my guess is the dealer didnot bleed the air out since it was his first day.

He will need to let the motor idle, there is a fail safe so you cant hurt the E-Tec, when it sees no oil pressure it goes into SAFE mode, it will not come out of SAFE mode until it sees 5 or 10 oil injector cycles, (this may take 10-15 minutes) that have oil pressure, when the E-Tec has 5 or 10 good oil injector pules it will resume normal operation.
The Thing about the E-Tec is, it wont Hurt you and it wont let you hurt it. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
