Primer Bulb not hard?????
I have a 2001 johnson 175 carb model j175plsig and when I pump the primer buld it never gets hard. If I pump it 5 or 6 times before I start the engine it runs perfect. Even after fishing a spot for 2-3 hrs it will start with just a touch of the key( at the same time the bulb is not hard). I replaced the bulb, nothing still not hard. I see no fuel leaks in any lines- checked and tightened all connection. I have not replaced the fuel filter yet.
Any help would be appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I f it is drinking more fuel than normal I would look at the choke. If this motor has a vro pump you might wanna pull the pulse line off and see if fuel is going there
Re: Primer Bulb not hard????? (red devil)
According to my gps it is getting 3-5 to 4 mpg. As for the vro pump. I think that that is the oil pump? Right. If so there is no gas going into that tank. I put a piece of painters take on the oil level and check it everytime I get back- and it is lower that it started.
Thanks for all inputs on this !!!

The fuel will be going into motor and out prop not back in the tank.

Add 1 "viagra" pill per 10 gallons of gas , this should help, just kidding but couldn't resist. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
My Dads got the same engine and I had a '99 150hp, same thing, firm but not hard, nothing to worry about.
